PlasticsFatE First General Assembly

Despite meticulous plans and preparations for our first in-person meeting, the pandemic forced PlasticsFatE to move its first General Assembly online. This meant, however, that many more partners were able to attend and participate in dynamic, fruitful discussions over two days, from 14th to the 15th December.

Following an introductory opening from our Project Coordinators, Rudolf Reuther (ENAS) and Mark Morrison (Optimat), Laia Quiros, our EU Project Officer, took to the screen to deliver a warm welcome.

The GA enabled each of the project's work package leaders to give an overview of their activities and plans, before the project partners dug deeper into cross-work package activities that looked at the production of nmps, measurement of additives and contaminants, and measurements of nmps in complex matrices. This was followed by discussions on in vivo and in vitro studies, and inter-lab comparisons. Day one ended with a group photo (below)

Day two commenced with a welcome from Rudolf Reuther followed by a recap of Day One to pave the way for continuation of discussions and planning of work ahead across WPs for the next 6 months.

PlasticsFatE partners are now looking forward to meeting in person in Italy in June.
