A not-to-be-missed event - “Shaping the Future of Micro- and Nanoplastic Research: Connecting Science, Policy and Industry for Human Health” - marks a significant milestone for our sister project Plasticheal as it enters its final phase after three and a half years of dedicated research into micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs).
Scheduled for 25th and 26th November 2024, this conference will showcase the results achieved so far and provide a platform for key players from various fields across Europe to discuss the current state of knowledge, its limitations, and future research challenges regarding the impact of MNPs on human health.
At the same time, PlasticsFatE is delighted to share that Alberto Katsumiti from our partner GAIKER will be a guest speaker joining the second roundtable on Tuesday, 26 November, at 9:00 am CET, titled "Bridging Science and Policy: Refining Models for Regulatory Impact."
Moderated by Julia Catalán from the University of Zaragoza, this roundtable will focus on:
Improving experimental models to address regulatory needs in micro- and nanoplastic risk assessments.
Enhancing data usability beyond traditional approaches.
Defining exposure through advanced analytical workflows.
Discussing strategies to close regulatory gaps.
The session will feature insights from leading experts, including:
Penny Nymark (Karolinska Institutet): Discussing toxicological advancements.
Björn Hidding (BASF): Sharing perspectives on industry applications.
Ana Fernández (AIMPLAS): Addressing challenges in analytical workflows.
Registrations are available at https://bit.ly/plasticheal
